The cutest Santa Claus ever and an important date/ O Papai Noel mais lindo e um anuncio importante

Do you remember this little fellow? No? Well, this is Bruno and he's been in our blog early in August. Now he's 8 months old and was the cutest Santa Claus on our X-mas party! With that picture, I don't think I need to greet you with Merry Christmas, right?

Also, we shall herald some important news: We've scheduled our c-section to the next 17th. that's right...our son is going to be born on the 17th of January 2007 at noon...Counting down from today it's exactly 3 weeks!

And as a catholic, out of curiosity, I did some research on what is the saint of that day an found out that it's Saint Anthony the Abbot's. You may have a quick reading about his life at: Saint Anthony the Abbot

That would also give you an idea of the name that I'm about to choose. If you don't know, just go to the name poll!

I truly believe that this baby has been a blessing and that this coincidence - between the name I most liked and the day - is not merely coincidence!

Voces se lembram desse menino ai em cima? Nao? Ele eh o Bruno e ja esteve no blog em agosto. Agora ele tem 8 meses e foi o Papai Noel mais lindo do nosso Natal. Como ele ai, acho que nem preciso deseja a todos um Feliz Natal, ne?

Alem disso, precisamos fazer um importante anuncio: Ontem agendamos a cesariana para o proximo dia 17. Isso mesmo; dia 17 de janeiro de 2007 ao meio-dia...de hoje ate la, sao exatamente 3 semanas...

E como um bom catolico, eu fiz uma pesquisa pra descobrir qual eh o santo do dia e descobri que o santo do dia eh Santo Antonio do Deserto. Se quiser vai no link ao lado pra saber um pouco da vida dele: Santo Antonio do Deserto
Acho que isso praticamente encerra qual vai ser o nome do bebe, basta ir na lista de nomes da eleicao ao lado pra ter uma ideia.

Eu realmente acredito que esse bebe eh uma bencao e que essa coincidencia - do nome que eu mais gosto ser o nome do santo do dia - nao eh uma simples coincidencia!

Daddy's birthday!

Well, another milestone has been completed and I'm becoming 30 today. Exactly at 9:50pm. My dear mother and sister called me early in the morning to give their best wishes. Claudia's given me her gift, a tight hug and lots of kisses...I've given myself a gift too!

We'll go out for dinner tonight with our friends just for the sake of doing something. I know this part of the year is a hectic one and people are wandering crazy to get their Christmas ready!

As my personal feelings, I feel I'm older indeed, mostly because I'll have to be more responsible than ever to set a good example to somebody I still don't know but already love: my son. However, it's a revigorating feeling as a new life is beginning. I'm going to be a child again, play with toys, roll over the ground, play ball and laugh of silly things! I can't wait to have my son with me to remind me of the good moments of my childhood and to bring to my life the innocene lost throughout these past 30 years! That will be the best gift ever and another milestone to complete....

Thanks to all my lovely friends and relatives...far or close...I love all of you!

Bem, uma outra etapa cumprida and eu faco 30 anos hoje. Mais exatamente as 21:50. Minhas queridas mae e irma me ligaram cedinho pra me cumprimentar. A Clau me deu um presente, um forte abraco e muuuuiiittooos beijos...Eu tambem me dei um presente!

Devemos sair pra jantar com os amigos, so pra nao passar em branco. Eu sei que essa epoca do ano eh corrida pra todo mundo por causa do Natal!

Ja com meus sentimentos, eu me sinto mais velho mesmo, mas mais porque eu sei que preciso ter responsabilidade pra dar um bom exemplo pra quem eu ainda nao conheco, mas ja amo: meu filho. No entanto, tenho um sentimento rejuvenescedor de que uma nova vida vai comecar. Vou ser crianca de novo, brincar com brinquedos, rolar no chao, jogar bola e rir de coisas bobas! Nao vejo a hora de ter meu filho comigo pra poder me lembrar dos bons momentos de minha infancia e trazer de volta aquela inocencia que se perdeu nestes ultimos 30 anos! Este vai ser o melhor presente de todos...e uma outra etapa a ser cumprida...
Obrigado a todos os meus amigos e parentes...os de perto e os de longe...eu amo a todos!

Just missing the baby!

This last weekend we bought the most important things that were missing: crib mattress, bed sheets, bottles, pacifiers, first aid and baby care products (such as thermometer, hair brush, etc) , the changing table, car seat and stroller and, a portable crib so we can put our baby in our bedroom in the first weeks and travel with him later on.

Although, not everything has arrived - some items we bought online - we can say that we have everything for him to arrive...there are some decorative stuff to put in his bedroom, but the basic and necessary is there!

We're basically just missing the baby himself!

I pretty much have decided on a name for him, but since I have waited until now to reveal it, I will wait until his birth day to do so! Please, bear with me and put your vote in case you haven't!

So falta o bebe!

Nesse fim de semana, compramos as coisas mais importantes que faltavam: colchao pro berco, lencol, mamadeiras, chupetas, um kit the primeiros socorros e cuidados do bebe (com termometro, escova de cabelo, etc), uma mesa de trocar fraldas, um carrinho com cadeirinha pro carro (nao sei como isso chama em portugues) e um bercinho portatil pra te-lo conosco no quarto nas primeiras semanas e poder viajar com ele mais pra frente.

Apesar de nem tudo ter chegado - tem coisas que compramos online - ja podemos dizer que temos tudo que eh necessario pra ele...ainda tem uma decoracao aqui e ali, mas o basico ja temos!

So ta faltando o bebe!

Eu ja praticamente escolhi o nome dele, mas ja que nao reveli ate agora, vou segurar ate o dia do nascimento pra dizer. Por favor, continuem conosco e vote caso nao tenha feito!

Final sprint!
We are getting closer and closer day to day...Claudia is more tired than never and sleeping has become a real challenge for her. There ain't positions now. She feels pain in almost every muscle of the body and every day!
We are starting to freak out about the final day that we have even forgot to put our Christmas tree up!
Today we had a tour at the hospital where he's going to be born and learned that on his Birth Certificate the father's name is not required, unless mother wants to. Actually it is the mother who has to fill out the form!
I will not be able to video tape or take pictures during the c-section. Only before and after!
The good news is that there is wireless internet connection, so I'll be able to post the pictures right after being admitted to our room with my laptop. 21st century!

Ultimo sprint!
O dia esta chegando...a Claudia esta muito cansada e dormir eh um grande desafio ja que nao tem posicao confortavel. Tudo doi o tempo todo!Nos estamos comecando a ficar tensos sobre o grande dia que ate esquecemos de montar a arvore de Natal! Hoje fizemos um tour pelo hospital onde ele vai nascer and aprendemos que na Certidao de Nascimento o nome do pai nao eh necessario, a nao ser que a mae faca questao. Alias, eh a mae que tem de preencher os formularios. Eu nao vou poder filmar ou fotografar o parto. Somente antes e depois, MAS o hospital tem conexao sem fio de internet e eu vou poder botar as primeiras fotinhos rapidinho pra voces verem. Seculo 21!
